To workaround the problem in 5.0 you can do the following:
- Connect to vCenter using VI Client
- Select vCenter on the left hand panel (the root of the inventory tree)
- Open Alarms tab.
- Click "Definitions"
- Right click "Cannot connect to storage" alarm and select "Edit Settings"
- Open Triggers tab
- Click add.
- Click on newly created item and change Event name to "esx.problem.vmfs.nfs.server.disconnect" without quotes.
- Save the changes by clicking OK.
