Hi, I plan to implement 4 x 2 node vSphere clusters using Standard Edition (i.e. total 8 vSphere hosts in 4 pairs).
I already have a vCenter instance managing existing vSphere farms and this vCenter server will also manage the new vSphere servers.
The requirement is to implement the new vSphere servers and utilise local storage for VMs using VSA, and as stated above the existing vCenter server to manage VSA and vSphere servers.
Firstly, I'm unclear about the licensing of VSA. I understand that VSA is included in essentials and accelerator kits, however, the policy in unclear regards to vSphere standard. I've found documentation stating one instance is included and other documentation stating standalone instances can be purchased. Therefore, does anyone know exactly whether VSA is included for above 4 x 2 node configuration using the single existing vCenter server AND if this is not the case then what needs to be purchased.
Any reference to VMware policy is appreciated.
Thanks
