I'm a newbie to the VM community and have come across my 1st problem with vCenter & vSphere.
I have an host running ESXI 5.0.0, 504890 that is located in an remote location
I'm trying to add an datastore and receive the following error (Both through vSphere and vCenter)
Call "HostDatastoreSystem.QueryVmfsDatastoreCreateOptions" for object "datastoreSystem-xxxx" on vCenter Server "VC FQDN" failed
I've done some research and I'm finding different communities showing to do:
- VMware KB: Troubleshooting a LUN that is extended in size past the 2TB/2047GB limit
- VMware KB: Troubleshooting the Add Storage Wizard error: Unable to read partition information from this disk
- VMware KB: When an ESXi host wakes from standby, the "Host connection and power state" alarm triggers
My problem is the SSH is not enabled on the console (which would require the 1 hour drive to the remote location). Now PowerCLI is also installed but am not knowing enough commands to run the fdisk as referenced in the above links.
The datastore missing is an Raid 1 (Which I use for C:\ in my windows guests). Datastore name is: naa.6d4ae520996553001745a2aa1130d644
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much
