I've got a datastore cluster and every datastore that can be accessed by this particular compute cluster has been added to that datastore cluster. SDRS is enabled. All datastores are 2TB.
However, now I have two huge VMs to add. These VMs each need their own 2TB datastore. I don't want SDRS to try to move these VMs to other datastores, or move other VMs to these datastores. However the VMs need to be restartable by HA on any ESXi host in the compute cluster.
The problem is:
- I don't want to add the new datastores to the existing datastore cluster because that would allow SDRS to potentiallly move VMs to these datastores or vice versa
- If I don't add the datatores to the datastore cluster, then not all datastores accessible to the ESXi hosts will be part of the datastore cluster. This has caused error messages before and I know is not the best practice.
What is the best way to handle this scenario?
