Thanks for the quick response vmroyale.
So went into my NetApp system manager, found the volume/LUN that want to increase, and increased it to 100GB. First I went to volumes, found the correct one and increased it. I then went to LUNs, found the correct one and also increased that by 100GB.
I then went into vSphere, and did a rescan all on the storage adapters for each host in the cluster. After that I logged into the server I wanted to increase the disk on. I went into disk management and found the volume I wanted to increase.
I didn't see any unused space there to use so I went into diskpart. I listed the disks and it showed the disk with 0B free. I tried to extend it anyway and it said there isn't enough usable space.
I then went back to vSphere to check things out. I noticed that when I went to storage under the configuration tab for the host, it shows the datastore as the same size it was before the increase (it does show 162GB free now though, I am not sure if that changed though). I did notice that the LUN for this datastore is thin provisioned. Does that have something to do with it?
What am I missing or doing wrong?
Thanks
