Thanks for the reply Akopylov, As you can see in my 2nd VM (Temp Windows 8, pic below), all the same "New Virtual Machine/New Virtual Machine_1.vmdk (1.36TB)" etc are there.
I do not use the vm's simultaneously, just using as required. There should not be any reason why i cant add the data stores again, i dont know whats happened
