While trying to lab storage profiles in preparation for the vcap exam, I came across an issue.
Using the VI client, I first enabled the VM storage profile, then created a storage capability named "Gold". I then created a VM storage profile named "SAN storage" and linked it to my user defined "Gold" capability. I then linked my VM storage profile to individual LUNS (LUN1, LUN2) part of my datastore cluster, and then linked my storage capability to a VM. Please see attached for the error. Now I have couple of questions while configuring storage profiles:
1. Do we use the new "Tag" feature in 5.5 and I assume that is only available in the Web Client?
2. Is there any difference between the "Tag" and older methods for configuring storage profiles?
3. What is this vm home that is not compliant?
4. Can we do this only from VI client?
I can't stand using the Web Client, can we get away with only using the VI client for the VCAP exam?
