Increasing a virtualized esxi vmfs5 local partition

Hey guys, first post here and probably not the last.... I'm building a virtualized lab on my laptop to study for my VCP 5.1 certification and I ran into a little problem here..

I have 2 ESXi hosts running in VMware Workstation 9, both with 60GB Hard Disk.  I`m trying to add another 60GB to each hosts.

Once I add the additional 60GB in VMware Workstation I am not able to see it in vCenter... I tried doing an increase of the datastore but no lun came up.  I then tried using vmkfstools but I get a permission denied (I am logged in as root).

Here's a printscreen... I am basically try to extend the 55.12GB VMFS partition.  You can see the Local Disk capacity at 120GB.
