Hello Everyone,
I'm fairly new to the Virtual world, and my task is to change a thin provisioned disk into a thick eager zero one. The server was restored after a Windows Update problem and was restored as thin provisioning thinking it would take less time to restore. I know where the function is to do this, but I have no idea how long the process will take. (1 hour, 24 hours?) I have an EMC VNX with a datastore created for this machine with capacity of 1.4 TB (Thick Provisioned), and the current thin provisioned size on the server is 812 GB. On the VM itself, the drive to inflate (D:) has 400 GB free space (of 704 GB). I would like to change this to thick provisioned eager zero.
Is there any way to guesstimate the time it will take? My hosts are Poweredge R610s with 96GB RAM each (approx 40% used)
Thanks so much!
