Gentlemen, I have the following scenario in a single ESXi 5.5 host a client.
The company's IT wizard made some snapshots of a VM with Windows Server, I saw that there are window.vmdk delta disks, windows000001.vmdk, windows.000002.vmdk, the vm does not start and the disc properties the VMware shows the size with the same size 0 MB.
When you start the vm, the operation fails and says it is missing the widows000004.vmdk disk detail that besides be missing this also do not see a possible windows000003.vmdk, ie they are missing two deltas.
In my opinion, the only way to solve this problem would be restoring the backup of the VM, either via VDR or Veeam, only that there are none of these.
You can do something to recover the VM and the data intact, using the deltas that still exist, or I can tell the client that can pray before speaking to the Board? For even up the data it has.
Thanks!
