When I put any one of my datastores into maintenance mode, it causes extremely high utilization and outages on my vms. Basically my vm's get high cpu wait, which is causing them to be unresponsive or extremely poor response. typical ping would be 17ms but when this is happening ping is 2200ms. How can I throttle the SDRS in maint mode to not cause this issue? If I individually migrate a vm to a new DS, this does not seem to happen.
Any help would be great as this is causing major outages.
