What would you guys do??
Upgrade your existing fibre infrastructure or move to Network storage?
The fibre upgrade would need to be a complete fresh start and so would the network.
In my mind I think of fibre as being 4 / 8 / 16 GB and the main jumps for Ethernet being 1 / 10 / 40 / 100GB as these are the most commonly documented speeds. To me this would say that the next logical jump for networks to the chassis would be 40GB to the port?
With this in mind a jump to 16GB fibre would be pointless to me??
I am also ruling out FCoE as I still havent found anyone using it properly yet.
Thoughts??
