Hello,
I have a network-related configuration questions in my install of VSA.
2 Dell PowerEdge R720XD servers each with 1 Broadcom quadport NIC
1 Dell PowerConnect 5448 Gb switch - Only currently using default VLAN (VLAN 1) for the entire rest of the network.
In reading through/follwing the vSphere Storage Appliance Installation and Administration pdf I have come to page 24 where the VLANs are discussed. This is where I get stuck. If I have 4 ports on each server, which/how many NICs would I delegate to the respective front-end and back-end VLANs, as far as the physical switch is concerned?
Also ESXi has been installed on each of the servers, with the management network configured without a VLAN, connected to NIC port 1. Would I need to assign a VLAN to that NIC and the mangement network of each host? If so, which one and how would I make it visible to the rest of my network?
Thanks...
