Cannot browse datastore ... empty

(Let me premise my questions by letting you know this is a test lab.)

I have a single ESXi 5.1 host with two nested vEsxi host in a cluster. Two virtual FreeNas 8.3 shared iSCSI storage devices where the datastores resided. Also, I have vCenter as a vm within the cluster.

The problem started after I built a new physical host to replace the existing one.

These are the steps I took:

Removed vHosts from cluster.

Removed iscsi datastores from Storage Cluster

Performed Storage vMotion to the new host's datastores.

Removed all vm's from inventory of the old host, including the vCenter vm and DC (I could not vMotion to new host for lack of resources (RAM) at the time)

Browsed datastore from old host and moved vm folders to new datastore.

All vms, including freenas, were part of Active Directory.

So, now when I browse the new datastore, it looks empty even though the vsphere client shows that it has data.

I tried to create a folder in the new datastore, but get an error: call "FileManager.MakeDirectory" for object "ha-nfc-file-manager"

I'd hate to recreate this lab, so I hope someone can shed some light and help me out. Thanks

Attached is a screen shot.
