Re: New Datastore not showing the expected amount of storage
True... but be also aware of the fact that when using a block size of 4MB only, no single vdisk (.vmdk) can exceed 1024GB in size.. Maybe that's fine in your setup...Only you can tell.. /Rubeck

Thank you André Follow-up question. What is the recommended way to fix this? Here is my opinion.I could take the chance and try this http://www.whitneytechnologies.com/?p=270. Or I could create...

I'd go with the classic method of doing an in-guest copy of the data. The instructions on the web site you mentioned may work - although you should never use the "cp" command on a VMFS datastore - but...

Thank you again André. Since we do have another way of backing up the files and are not in any hurry I will do the old faithful way. Mike

Most arrays and RAID controllers allow to split the raw disk space into several logical volumes which are then presented to the operating systems. Assuming your controller supports this, I'd create a...

That's a BAD idea I'd look strictly @ VMware VSA on your place. And here's why. When it comes to storage there are few things you need to take a look at initially. So, one-by-one: 1) Support. VMware...
