Folks,
IHAC who is a small shop and doesn't have a vcenter. I have to move VMs to another datastore.
I plan to do this from the ESXI console. The version of vSphere is 5.x
1. Note the LUN id of the source datastore (where is VM is located)
2. Note the LUN id of the destination datastore.
3.Unregister the VM
4.Move the VM
mv /vmfs/volumes/source LUN ID/vmname /vmfs/volumes/destination LUN ID/vmname
5. Once move is completre, register the VM to the ESXI host.
Do the steps look good?
Also I have a doubt regarding the usage of mv command. Is this the right command to move the VM?
