Hey guys, i'm new in Vmware and have a storage background and i'm wondering if its correct what i see when i compare the total size of all datastores vs the totals of the "used space" of all vm's running on these datastores.
I see a total of 139TB on the datastores with 33TB free space and when i add up all the vm's used space i have a totall of 138TB. This is about the size of all datastores!?
This looks not very accurate to me, i would expect the total of the used space much lower. All vm's use thick, eager zeroed space.
I hope somebody can explain this or confirm they see similar things?
For the used space i've exported the listing of all vm's to XL, splitted the space column to separate the numbers from the gb's/tb's, changed all space amounts to GB's and have XL add up the sum of all spaces.
