We currently use CBT based backups. For an app migration we are doing, we are have a VM with 2 VMDKs, a boot drive and a data drive. We are rebuilding the boot drive with newer OS and newer app, and then disconnecting app drive from original vm and mapping to new vm. This is working well for us, (large CAD applications so the data migration is minutes instead of days). Does doing this create a new CBT for the data drive or does the backup app keep using the same one?
