I am wanting to change a datastore of mine from a RAID 5 array on my SAN to RAID 10. This will require me to add another disk, but moreover, I have lots of data held in this datastore already including View persistent disks. As long as the datastore name did not change, couldn't I shut all affected VMs down, copy all data from the datastore to another, add the required disk to the array, recreate the array as a RAID 10, reconfigure the datastore (giving it the same name as before), then move all the data back over to the new datastore and boot my VMs back up? Or is there another way this should be performed?
