Hi there,
As vSphere HA requires shared storage, I'm wondering what are the best practices for implementing shared storage with the following characteristics:
1. Reliability/redundancy
2. Similar IO performance to local storage (we're using SSDs)
3. Handles a cluster size of 2
Since our cluster size is 2, it seems that VMware vSAN is out of the question based on their 3 host minimum. One solution we were looking into was HP StoreVirtual VSA (vSAN mechanism). Does anybody know if this mechanism can be used in conjunction with vSphere HA? One of the benefits of using vSphere HA instead of the Failover Manager (FOM) used in the HP solution is that HA uses embedded agents on the ESXi hosts themselves, whereas the HP FOM requires a separate server within the remote office.
Does anybody have experience using HP VSA in conjunction with VMWare HA? Are there other solutions that are typical for this setup?
Thanks in advance!
