Disk Bay under "Hardware Status"

Hi,

I'm working with ESX 5.5 with 10 disks attached to it. (local storage)

Under "Hardware Status" --> Storage there's "status" per "Disk Bay"

What the disk bay means? is it the real physical bay of the server, or just a random number?

If it's the real one, how it works? is it HW specific?

Also, is there any way to find the disk bay per disk identifier (naa.xxx), or I can only see the location once disk goes into failed state?
