storage vmotion 4 1 TB vmdk's to a new 4 tb Datastore on 5.5

Will benefit in performance if storage vmotion the 4 vmdks which are on 4 seperate datastores to a newly created 4TB datastore. with 5.5 having the 62 capability I was hoping someone could tell me.
