Hi hamudik, When you create a new datastore it updates the partition table and also formats the luns, So you wont be rebuild the old partition.

I am sure you cannot get back the old data from vmware point of view as you have already created a datastore out of the Lun. I will further check abt restoration of the data by any third party vendor...
